Bird walk at Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Summary of Walk

With an enthusiastic turnout of 22 participants, more than expected—the Srinagar Garhwal Bird Walk turned into a lively morning of exploration. Guided by Dr. Anand and Priyanshu, the group trekked through a stunning mix of hilly terrain, riverbanks, and forest patches, recording 33 bird species.
Highlights included Jungle Bush Quail, River Lapwing, Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, Alexandrine Parakeet, a flock of Barn Swallows, and the charming White-capped Redstart. Along the way, participants deepened their understanding of bird habitats, conservation, and the joy of birdwatching in the Himalayan foothills.
